William "Bill" Henry Hawken

November 20, 1939 - June 6, 2025

Passed away peacefully with family at his side on Friday, June 6, 2025 at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre at the age of 85. Beloved soulmate and husband of Judy Hawken for 40 years. Loving father of Ron Hawken, the late Bill Hawken Jr. (Michele Staves) and his girls Carli-Ann Garnett (Martin) and Lindy Zuber (Stephanie). Loving grandpa of Will, Brady (Phil), Dylan, Thomas (Tamara), Katherine (Jacob), Leah, Cody, Ewan, Avery, Rhys and his great-grand children. Dear brother of Jane Mansell (late Barney). Lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and coworkers.

A longtime employee of Ontario Hydro (now Hydro One), Bill will be remembered for his kindness and genuine nature. Bill loved spending time outdoors, hunting and skidoo-ing with his sons as well as fishing and boating with his buddies. He enjoyed curling and golf. Bill was steadfast, loyal, and trustworthy, supporting Judy, and family with unwavering kindness and strength. Working together, there was nothing that the Bill and Judy team could not do. Bill loved to drive, making several trips to Florida and Yukon, and making adventures out of every mile.

The family are grateful for the kindness and care that was shown to him by the staff of the PHRC ICU.

Bill’s family will receive friends at Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 10:30 am to 1:00 PM with tributes at 12 noon. The family will be hosting friends and family at their home following the gathering at Comstock-Kaye.
