She is survived by her devoted husband Dr. Pierre Lichaa and two children, Michel Lichaa and Dr. Vivian Simmons, a brother Dr. Carlos Alvaré, two first cousins José Manero and René Villa, two grandchildren, Leonard Joseph Lichaa and Lila Josephine Simmons. She is also survived by a brother in law Andraos Lichaa, four sisters in law, Dr. Cattia Lichaa de Rivas, Professor Norma Lichaa, Dr. Mountaha Lichaa de Blohm, Terry Alvaré and other relatives and friends.
Ada arrived in this country on February 22, 1962 to attend Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge where she later met Pierre on the University bus. During those fifty six years before her passing to the Lord’s side on April 6, 2018, she was loving, giving, kind, gentle, and forgiving while at the same time brilliant, industrious, and fun loving. She was a world traveler, cooked passionately, and relished food from all over the world. She was truly remarkable; she was a blessing in many lives. Her unwavering faith and deep convictions helped her fight her illness for over two and a half years with courage and poise. Most who knew her attested to her true qualities as a godly woman. Proverbs 31 so aptly describes her; the Lord says, “Well done thy good and faithful servant”. She has enriched many lives and left a lasting legacy of all that is good upon each of these lives.
Ada’s education and professional career includes degrees in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Dentistry, and professional certification in Hydrogeology which helped her “Give it All” to public service. Her career included teaching, research, patent development, management and expertise in environmental rules, regulations, policies and laws.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, and a true friend to all. As her daughter, goddaughter and others have said, “She is in Heaven dancing with the Angels”. Ada’s final words to Pierre while at her bedside, “Pierre the Lord is calling me, I am dying, I love you all."
