

He came from a family of five children and was a City of Austin water and waste water mechanic for 20 years. He also served honorably in the United States Air Force and retired as a Staff Sergeant after 22 years of service. His biggest joy was spending time with his wife of 57 years and his children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Josephine Barber; wife, Louise G. Barber; son, David W. Barber; grandson, David A.J. Barber; and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his sister, Lorraine Bassette of Florida; sons, Albert C. Barber and wife April of Bastrop, Texas, Robert L. Barber and wife Tammy of Leander, Texas, and Jeffrey S. Barber and wife Yvonne of Austin, Texas; daughter, Barbie A. Barber of Lockhart, Texas; and daughter-in-law, Judy Barber of Buda, Texas. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation to be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 3, 2017 in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services with military honors will follow at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
