“Kirby”, as he was called, graduated from Austin High School in 1945. He served in the Army Air Corp and then attended the University of Texas @ Austin, where he subsequently worked in the Office of Accounting for 37 years.
Kirby was a man of many talents, an avid collector of antique irons & other treasures, enjoyed a good joke, and told a Texas tall tale or two.
He was pre-deceased by his parents and brother, Walter (W.T.)
Survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Joan Morrison Kirby; 3 daughters, 4 grand-children, and many friends. Beth & Rusty Shaw (Austin & Jordan) of Houston, TX; Kay Schwab (Philip & Elliott) of Dallas, TX; Nancy Kirby & Richard Brock of Austin, TX.
Services to be held Thursday, October 11, 2012, at 10 am @ Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, TX. Their pastor, Dr. Jeff Cramer of Crestview Baptist Church will be conducting the services. Burial & reception immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may direct a memorial donation to the American Diabetes Association.
