Dear Karen and Brian. We just saw that Allen passed away today in the Statesman. We are so shocked and sad to hear this news. Allen was such an amazing guy and always willing to lend a hand whenever we needed it. He was the epitome of what a great neighbor is. He was always generous and helpful all the years that y'all lived next door to us. I know he will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. You are in our prayers.

I remember the fun trips to the coast that we took over Labor Day weekends. Allen took great pleasure in creating a gigantic photo of me from one of those trips for my 25th Anniversary celebration.  Yes, it was one of those poses that no one could be proud of, but Allen enjoyed every second of it.  Church camping trips were always fun with the Palmer family helping to organize things.  Allen was always larger than life and took great pleasure in brightening the room with his presence, his smile, and his bombastic voice.  Our lives were brightened by knowing Allen Palmer.  May God be with the family, embracing them with His love and reassuring them that there will be a joyful reunion in heaven one day.

I'm so sorry to receive this news about my 2nd cousin.  Although our families were so far apart and not in touch that often, I have fond memories of meeting Allen and his sisters when we were very young.  Since Uncle Earl's passing, I've been hoping we'd somehow meet again.  Sending love to the family during this difficult time of loss.

Karen, I can't believe that we met you and Allen over 30 years ago when we became neighbors on Glenhill Road. Arthur and Allen were instant friends. We are so sorry for your loss.
