Today, we gather in love and gratitude to honor the life of Alma Esquitin—a woman whose spirit was as bright as her laughter and whose heart was as generous as her smile. Alma entered eternal rest on April 5, 2026, after a courageous five‑year battle with MS. Though her journey was difficult, she faced every moment with strength, humor, and an unshakable faith that inspired everyone around her.
Born in Port Isabel, Texas, and later making her home in Austin, Alma built a life filled with purpose, family, and joy. Together with her husband Jerry, she poured her energy into their family business and into the home they created—one that was always open, always warm, and always full of life.
Alma had a gift for bringing people together. She loved hosting celebrations, filling her home with laughter, music, and the people she cherished most. Her parties were more than gatherings—they were expressions of her love, her generosity, and her belief that life is meant to be shared.
She was passionate, spirited, and fiercely loyal. Whether cheering for her beloved Dallas Cowboys or Texas Longhorns, or standing up for the people she loved, Alma lived with a fire that could not be ignored. She was strong‑willed and confident, yet wonderfully silly and playful. Her jokes, her laughter, and her vibrant presence left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know her.
Alma is survived by her devoted husband Jerry Esquitin, her daughter Alyssa Esquitin, her mother Gumecinda Trevino Gonzalez, her sisters Norma, Leslie (Adam), nieces Samantha and Charlotte, nephews Auston and Ryan, and her extended family who loved her deeply. She is preceded in death by her father, Vicente “Chente” Gonzalez Sr., her brother Vicente “Chenny” Gonzalez Jr. and her beloved daughter, Kristen Leigh Esquitin, with whom she is now reunited in God’s eternal embrace.
Though Alma is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on—in the memories we hold, the love she gave, and the joy she spread so effortlessly. Her legacy is one of strength, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the precious gift of Alma’s life. Thank You for the love she shared, the joy she brought, and the strength she showed through every trial. As we release her into Your eternal care, surround her with Your peace and reunite her with the loved ones who welcomed her home.
Comfort our hearts as we grieve. Fill the empty spaces with the warmth of her memory and the light of her spirit. Help us carry forward her kindness, her courage, and her unwavering love.
May Alma rest in Your presence, free from pain, embraced by Your grace, and wrapped in Your eternal love. And may we find strength in knowing this is not goodbye, but a promise that we will see her again.
Amen.
