She attended school with Elvis Presley and enjoyed the years she worked as a sales representative for JC Penney and Montgomery Ward department stores.
She is survived by her companion, Wilburn R. Johnson of Austin and her two daughters, Geneva M. Zook of Seguin and Dianna L. Fisher of Port Ewen, NY. She also leaves behind her beloved granddaughters, Sonya L. Coffin of Los Angeles, CA, Yolanda Ruess and Justine Brogan of Saugerties, NY; great-granddaughters, Whitney Ruess and Lorraine Gallagher of Saugerties, NY; and great-grandsons, Spencer and Cody Ruess of Saugerties, NY.
Family and friends are invited to gather at a visitation on Monday, April 25, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, with interment following at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
