Barbara was preceded in death by her father Archibald Robert Phillips; her grandparents, Ollie O. and Bertle Crutchfield.
Barbara was a 1963 Graduate of Lanier High School and attended Austin College of Business. Most of her working career was spent at The University of Texas, Applied Research Labs, where she thoroughly enjoyed working and was highly praised by all those that worked with her. She retired July 31, 2012 after more than 30 years of service.
Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. This was most evident in the love of her life, her children, whether it be at birthdays, Christmas or other special surprise times. Barbara loved her job and will be remembered and sorely missed by her Applied Research Labs family, where she was known as Dr. Becker. The only non-PhD doctor at the lab! Barbara was always willing to research any ailment, soreness….and give her normally strong opinion on treatment.
The family wishes to thank the Nurses at Texas Oncology, the Nurses and Dr. Weprich at St. David’s NAMC, employees at Applied Research Labs, and numerous other friends, for their love, support, and prayers throughout her illness.
A memorial service will be held on November 27, 2012 at 1pm at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 N. IH-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
