Barb leaves behind her beloved husband of 28 years, Allen Borden, loving daughters Amanda (Kyle) Van Buren and Kassidy Borden, grandson Trysten Dennis, sisters Debbie (Steve) Marques and Shari (Rick Allen) Lavick, brothers Jeff Reser and Greg (Dawn) Reser, nephews Matthew (Daphne) Townzen, Steven (Rebecca) Durbin, Nicholas (Jana) Townzen, and Morgan Gurley, great-nephews Joshua Townzen, Jake Townzen, and Liam Townzen, and great-niece Waverly Durbin. Barb also leaves behind her loving faithful companions, Maggie May and Tater Tot.
Most of Barb’s childhood was spent in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. In her early teens, she and her parents moved to Florida, where she began work immediately after high school as an office manager for Hughes Supply, Inc. After briefly residing in Georgia, Barb and daughter Amanda relocated to Texas in 1989 to be near her sisters.
Shortly after moving to Texas, Barb and Amanda met Allen. He soon became Barb's best friend whom she fell in love with, then married in 1994. When Barb was 40, they were delighted to welcome a beautiful baby girl, Kassidy.
Barb had a love of all animals, creative photography, and painting. Taking and transforming photos of her dogs, daughters, and grandson gave her so much pleasure and helped her create some amazing artwork. She was a featured artist for Picture It On Canvas, and she owned http://www.fine-art-expressions.com/, where she sold and shared her creative pieces of art. Barb especially enjoyed painting colorful abstracts, however, her paintings beautifully evolved as she developed skills taught by her late Aunt Patsy, an established artist in North Carolina whom she greatly admired.
We wish to remember Barb as the loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and great-aunt that she so loved being. As her health declined and she lost her independence, she also lost her ability to enjoy hobbies, walk her dogs, and most importantly, be the wife and mom she desperately wanted to be. The family is especially grateful for Allen loving Barb so much and sticking by her side through it all.
In lieu of flowers, Barb would love a donation to the SPCA, Humane Society, or your local animal shelter.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cookwaldencapitalparks.com for the Borden family.
