Bernice Starr

Bernice Starr, formerly Lago Vista, passed away on February 11, 2010 in Dallas, Texas. Bernice was born on February 6, 1931 in San Antonio, Texas to Thomas and Rose Tudyk. She lived and worked in the Austin area for numerous years. She was employed with Farmers Insurance as a Supervisor retiring after over 35 years of service.

Bernice was a fun-loving and independent woman, ahead of her time. She was an active mother who was always supportive of her family. She was an example to her daughter and granddaughters. Bernice enjoyed traveling and celebrating with friends and family. She loved to have a good time and always took great pride in her appearance. Bernice cherished the outdoors: being on the lake, hunting, fishing, even racing go-carts in her younger days. She was a passionate soul, who could always offer a laugh or special words of wisdom. Bernice, her lively wit, and fabulous style will be forever missed.

Bernice is survived by her daughter, Shirley Haney; granddaughters: Wendy Schober and Christina Hantgin; four great-grandchildren; and numerous special loved ones, extended family members and friends.

Guests will be received on Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 1:30 to 3:30 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 PM, in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
