

Bettye Ann Moore Courtney was born October 19, 1934, in Austin, Texas. She graduated from Austin High School. She married Raymond Courtney on June 12, 1953 and will be buried next to him. She lived in Corpus Christi in her early married life and then moved to Austin and then to Hutto.
Bettye accepted Christ early and served in different churches throughout her adult life.
She was very easy going and quiet, never needing recognition or praise.
After staying home with her children for a while, she started working as a civilian for Bergstrom Air Force and retired from there.
Her love of bowling took her to different parts of the country to compete in tournaments. She had a couple of 300 games, those times would be some of the fondest memories with her friend, Doris. She enjoyed crafting and making stained glass and antiquing. After retirement she learned how to quilt, making and giving away many baby quilts and throws. Her last quilt was a full size and is called “the John Wayne quilt” as it has his picture right in the middle of it, he was her favorite actor.
Bettye was called home to Heaven on May 31, 2025, she was 90 years old.
She leaves behind 3 children and their spouses, Janice and Wayne Francis, Ken and Cindy Courtney, and Donna and Jon Gardner. 5 grandchildren: Timothy Francis, Kimberly Lindsey, Lauren Freeman, Blake and Scott Gardner, and 8 great-grandchildren: Eloise and Oliver Lindsey, Audrey Freeman, Scarlett and Jensen Gardner, Phoenix, Oakley and Lilliana Gardner, as well as sister Nancy Brandt and brother Joe Moore.
A graveside service for Bettye will be held Friday, June 6, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Cook Walden – Memorial Hill, 13700 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660. Following the graveside service will be a reception from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
