Beulah Joyce Tucker, 80, of Bastrop, passed away on February 27, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Lee and Beulah Mae Helton on September 22, 1932, the youngest of 8 children. Growing up on a Dairy Farm there were still plenty of chores even for the youngest. It would also play a role in helping to mold one of the most responsible, organized, never leave things undone, type of person she was. Later she met her perfect mate Billy Tucker and they were blessed with over 59 years together, he preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 2010. Joyce worked administrative positions, and ultimately retired from the University of Texas. Joyce often said she didn’t know how she ever had time to work there was so much to do after she retired. Joyce enjoyed getting together with her family, and/or church family over a great meal and fellowship. She was a wonderful cook, and always making sure everyone got what they needed in any way. She was very patient and always teaching us something along the way, even how to play skip-bo card game which she loved to play, and was very good at. She was the most dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and a great grandmother you could ever ask for. Her family will forever remember her love, strength, guidance and support.
Joyce leaves behind to cherish her memory, children Linda Hamilton, and husband, Paul; son Jeff Tucker and wife, Debbie; 3 grandchildren: Amy Christopher, Melisa Fowler and Jourdan Tucker; 5 great-grandchildren: Rachel, Christy, Katie, Crystal, and Billy; her sisters Gertrude Atwood, and Ella Amstead; brother-in-law Earl Tucker and wife Jan and numerous special family members, and her brothers and sisters in Christ along with countless loved ones and friends.
The family will receive guests at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm. The funeral service will be conducted in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
