

Buddy G. Thomas, 87, passed away July 11, 2013 in Temple, TX. Born in Clay County on July 28, 1925 the son of Edgar F. and Cora Thomas. He served in WWII for two years in the 100th Infantry - receiving the Bronze and Silver Stars as well as the Good Conduct Medal - retiring as Staff Sergeant. After that he was in the Air Force for three years at Bergstrom Field.
Buddy and Willie Bernice Warren were married in Austin in 1946. They had two sons - Stanley Glenn Thomas and wife Debbie of Jarrell and Charles Ray Thomas of Luling (Deceased in 1990). They have six grandchildren - Clay Thomas and wife Danna of Cedar Park, Wick Thomas and wife Amy of Salado, Curtis Thomas and wife Amanda of Jarrell, Tiffany Cooper of Jarrell, Brittany Cooper of Hutto, and Cody Cooper (Deceased in 2003). They also have five wonderful great-grandchildren - Makenzie Ann born to Clay and Danna; Charley Terese, Cooper Roan and Cora Lee born to Wick and Amy; Tristan Miller born to Curtis and Amanda.
Buddy was preceded in death by his Mother, Father, Brother E.F. Thomas, Sisters Olla Faye Richards, Dolly Robinson, Opal Kelley and Burnis Henderson. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends.
Buddy was a Masonry Contractor in Austin for over 30 years. Then, in 1974, the Thomases opened Turbine West Supply and ran it for 11 years before retiring and moving to Salado in 1985.
He and his wife started running mules on the track during the 1980's which brought a lot of enjoyment to them, their family and friends.
Visitation will be from 10am to 11am at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks in Pflugerville on Monday, July 15, 2013. Graveside services will be held immediately after at 11am.
Pallbearers: Clay Thomas, Wick Thomas, Randy Peshcel, Rodney Peschel, Robert Whitehead and Frank Villamaria.
