Cecelia Pansy Stephens Wells passed away June 15, 2016. She was born on June 13, 1928 to parents Richard Aaron and Sarah Buelah Stephens in McMahan, Caldwell County, Texas into a family of 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Her early years were spent in McMahan with her family, friends and school mates. She graduated high school in Lockhart, Texas and worked there for the telephone company until her marriage to Jack in 1946. They set up housekeeping in Austin. While raising the family and taking care of their needs, she worked for two years for Southwestern Bell, 11 years for the City of Austin, 11 with Bank of the Hills and 40 with Round Rock School District.
During her busy life, she did find time to enjoy sports. She was an accomplished athlete, earning awards in volleyball, softball and tennis. Her competitive nature made her a formidable opponent in all games such as cards, dominos, etc. In later years she attacked craft work with the same zeal. Saint Peter should know that when she enters the pearly gates her competitive and indomitable spirit will enter with her but first and foremost was her devotion to and love for her family.
Pansy was preceded in death by her husband, companion and best friend for over 60 years, Jack in 2012, and daughter-in-law, Kathy Wells. She is survived by two sons, Bruce Alan Wells and David Lynn Wells and his wife Karen, both of Covington, Texas; grandsons, Michael Lynn Wells and wife Lindsey and Matthew Alan Wells, both of Fort Worth area; granddaughter, Shannon Wells of California; great-granddaughters, Alexis Montanaro of California, Ashley Wells and Sabrina Wells both of Fort Worth area. Also she leaves a host of friends from church, work and neighbors, all of whom are much better off for knowing her and having the opportunity to be her friends. There will be a void in all our lives as she goes on to a better place.
The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
