He was married to Tracey (TJ) on May 1, 1999. Chuck worked as a journeyman electrician for Tumlinson Electric and was an avid hunter. He never met a stranger and always had a smile for everyone he met. His true passion was cooking for friends and family. As a friend stated "Sometimes people come into your life that you just never know you needed. Chuck was one of those people. He always made you laugh, even if you hadn't seen him in forever and ran into him at HEB, it was like it was yesterday. You never doubted who he loved and who he was."
Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Jim Simons.
Survivors include his wife, Tracey (TJ) of Elgin; sons, Dylan and Kyle; Samantha Eason of Brownwood; Gary, Diane and JoAnn Kunde, Shane and Jennifer Scott; mother, Evelyn and sister Nicole.
