

Charlotte Belinda Browning, known to many as “Charlie,” of Bastrop, Texas, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on January 2, 1959, in Fort Worth, Texas, she was the second of seven siblings.
Charlotte was a lifelong learner and a determined professional. She earned her Florida High School Diploma in 1978, completed a Robotics Certification at Central Oklahoma Vocational Technical School in 1993, and proudly graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2005 with a degree in Electrical and Electronics Technology. Throughout her career, she held many roles in the construction industry, including hauling materials with dump trucks and tractor trailers, operating cranes, and working as a commercial electrician before retiring.
Beyond her professional life, Charlotte was a passionate member of her community. She actively supported the local drag racing scene and local musicians. A woman of deep faith, she was steadfast in her Christian beliefs and never wavered in her devotion to Christ as her Lord and Savior. Charlotte was also politically active, championing civic engagement and encouraging others to vote knowledgeably at the state, local, and federal levels. She had a deep love for animals and nature; in her younger years, she especially loved horses and never passed up an opportunity to ride.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David Holt; her son, John Browning; and her father, Ernie Hardie. She is survived by her sons, Richard Currier and his wife, Amy, Michael Browning and his wife, Tracy; her grandchildren, Andy and Amber; her mother, Geraldine Godwin; her brothers, Rocky Hardie, Mark Hardie, and Steve Hardie; and her sisters, Lorie Weyrick, Sonja Keen, and Pamela Huber.
Charlotte will be remembered for her generosity and indomitable spirit. She had a big heart and helped many throughout her lifetime, often putting their needs before her own. She was known for her candor, determination, and resilience in the face of adversity. Charlotte loved God, her husband, her children & grandchildren, and her country. She was a proud Texan and a true patriot.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM.
