Christopher Adam Johnson Jr.
November 5, 1999 – July 7, 2025
Christopher Adam Johnson Jr., affectionately known as “Chris,” was a loving son, devoted father, and loyal brother whose vibrant spirit and deep love for his family left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew him.
Chris briefly attended Hutto High School, where he formed lifelong bonds with friends and teammates. Through hard work and dedication, he later earned a place on the Rockdale Tigers’ 2017 State Championship football team—a moment of great pride for both him and his family (T.F.N.D).
After high school, Chris made the honorable decision to serve his country. He enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served as a Logistics Specialist Seaman (LSSN) from January 22, 2019, to October 14, 2021. Chris bravely served during the Gulf War era, participating in Operation Freedom’s Sentinel and Operation Inherent Resolve. His service reflected his strong character, unwavering discipline, and his deep commitment to something greater than himself.
Following his military career, Chris worked at Veolia in Manor, Texas, where he was a valued employee for a year. Known affectionately by his coworkers as “Jun Bug,” Chris’s presence was always eagerly anticipated. His positive energy, reliable work ethic, and good-natured humor left a lasting impression on everyone around him.
Family was Chris’s greatest joy. He shared an unbreakable bond with his siblings—whether they were on the basketball court, competing in video games, or just sharing laughs, his love for them was evident in every interaction. Chris always wanted his brothers to know he was there for them, no matter what. His playful rivalry with his baby sister, Love, brought laughter to the entire family. Their signature exchange—“This is my mom,” she’d say, and Chris would shoot back, “That’s my mom; I started this for y’all”—was both hilarious and heartwarming. Behind every joke was a heart full of love.
Chris also found happiness in life’s simple joys: a fresh pair of sneakers, a new tattoo, and a room full of laughter. His sharp wit and big-hearted humor made him unforgettable to everyone blessed to know him. That laughter is something we will miss most.
But above all, Chris was a devoted father to his beautiful daughter, Ava. She was his heart, his pride, and his greatest motivation. Watching her grow helped transform him from a young man full of dreams to a father driven by purpose. His deepest wish was for Ava to be happy, safe, and forever surrounded by love.
While Chris kept a close circle, his relationship with his mother, Latoya, was sacred. She was his confidante, his teacher, and his best friend. Their bond was built on unconditional love, honesty, and mutual respect. Whether in conversations about life, fatherhood, or healing, Chris knew she would always be there for him. That bond remains unbroken—even now.
Chris leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty. He is survived by his daughter, Ava Johnson; his mother, La Toya Wells; his father, Christopher Adam Johnson Sr.; his sister, Love Reels; his brothers, Michael and Messiah Blaylark; his sister, Kaylin Shields; his sister Arianna Johnson and a host of family members and close friends who will cherish his memory always.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Ella Brown; his grandmother, Nancy Johnson; his aunt, Crystal Dixon; and his brother, Domaine Reels Jr.
Though his time with us was far too short, Chris’s light, his love, and his legacy will live on in all of us.
May he rest in peace and rise in power.
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
