

Claudetta Ann Theiss passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 31, 2022, one day past her birthday on July 30. She was 85 years old. Claudetta was born in Panama, Nebraska on July 30, 1937. While still a babe in arms, her parents Claude and Kathlyn Young moved to Austin, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Kathlyn Young; brother Robert Young; son Michael L. Holly Sr.
Claudetta is survived by her husband of 48 years, Donald A. Theiss; son Jeff Holly, stepdaughters Donna Cagle and husband Clint; Kathy Robson and husband John; and Trisha Hicks. Brother Bill Young and wife Barbara; sister Sue Jackson and husband Galen, and sister-in-law Virginia Young, along nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by grandchildren: Michael Jr., Sara, George, Hannah, Ricky, Daniel and Nathan, Kevin, Kristina, Kimberly, Austin and Cameron along with a number of great-grandchildren.
Claudetta graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and went to work for the Texas High School Coaches Association. She worked several different jobs in the ensuing years, including working at Whitley Printing in Austin before moving to become the assistant to the President at the Texas District, Lutheran Church Missouri Synod for many years. Loved and respected by coworkers wherever she worked, she said she really enjoyed working at the Texas District office and said, “she never wanted to retire”.
She was a force and a tremendous woman, loving wife and mother. She will be dearly missed.
The family will be holding a private graveside service at Cook-Walden/Capital Park Cemetery.
