

Curtis Noreen Patton, lovingly known as Shirley, passed away on November 21, 2025, surrounded by her devoted family. Born on June 6, 1946, in Manor, Texas, Shirley entered the world with curls that inspired her siblings to nickname her after Shirley Temple. That name stayed with her throughout her life, reflecting her gentle charm, her bright spirit, and the kindness she shared so freely.
Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Patton; her mother, Jesse Calhoun; her father, Roy Calhoun; and her siblings Irene Wilma Coppola, Henry Floyd McDoland, Marion Ruth McDoland, Miriam Ruby Meredith, Richard Robert McDoland, Bertha Mae Vollmering, Roy Dean Calhoun, James Dean Calhoun, and Albert Roy Calhoun. She is survived by one sister, Jewel Dean Tomlin.
She is survived by her children and their spouses—Marvin Lee Buck Jr. and wife Donna Buck; Luther Dean Buck and wife Crystal Buck; and Lisa Anne Kosel and husband Steve Kosel. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ashley Sturdivant, Courtney Abeywickrama, Justin Buck, Shelby Buck, and Jacob Kosel; and her great-grandchildren, Ava Sturdivant, Aiden Sturdivant, Paul Moore, Charleigh Abeywickrama, and Braxton Bench.
Shirley’s family was the greatest joy of her life. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought her endless happiness, and she treasured every moment she spent with them. She celebrated their accomplishments, comforted their struggles, and loved each of them with a devotion that knew no limits.
Known for her unselfish nature, Shirley lived her life putting others first. She had a rare gentleness that made people feel welcomed and cared for, and many who met her would remark that she was the sweetest lady they had ever known. Her kindness was not loud or showy. It was steady, real, and deeply felt by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
Shirley’s legacy is one of love, humility, and warmth. She will be profoundly missed, yet her memory will continue to bring comfort and inspiration to the family she cherished and to the many lives she touched.
A visitation will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, located at 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas, 78660, on December 6, 2025, from 9:30 am to 10:00 am.
The funeral service will follow at the same location, beginning at 10:00 am on December 6, 2025.
