Cyndy Patricia Hernandez- Martinez

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Cyndy Patricia Hernandez- Martinez, beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend, who passed away on February 8, 2025, in San Marcos, TX. She was 31 years old.

Cyndy was born on July 19, 1993, in Austin, TX, to Israel G. and Norma M. Hernandez. She is survived by her loving husband, Alexander David Gunderson, her parents, Israel G. and Norma M. Hernandez, and her siblings, Nicole, Israel and Katherine Hernandez. Cyndy’s beloved pet, Capulín, will also miss her dearly.

A graduate of St. Edward’s University in Austin, Cyndy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English, pursuing her love of writing and reading. She was a passionate and creative soul, using her talents to bring joy to others. Whether through her artwork, her writings, or her infectious laughter, Cyndy’s warmth and joy touched everyone she met.

In addition to her artistic pursuits, Cyndy found great joy in homesteading. She loved the simplicity and beauty of living close to nature and cherished the time she spent cultivating her garden, raising animals, and learning new skills to live sustainably. Homesteading was not just a hobby for Cyndy, but a lifestyle that brought her peace and a deeper connection to the world around her.

Cyndy was a free spirit who loved to sing and had an appreciation for music, always sharing her enthusiasm with those around her. Her goofiness and sense of humor were unmatched, and she had an incredible ability to make those around her laugh, no matter the circumstances. She had a unique way of making people feel special and valued, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Cyndy’s life will be held at Cook Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, TX on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 10:00am.

Cyndy will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, loving spirit, and her deep love for homesteading. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know her.

Es con profunda tristeza que anunciamos el fallecimiento de Cyndy Patricia Hernández- Martínez, querida esposa, hija, hermana y amiga, que falleció el 8 de febrero de 2025 en San Marcos, TX. Tenía 31 años.

Cyndy nació el 19 de julio de 1993 en Austin, TX. Le sobreviven su amoroso esposo, Alexander David Gunderson, sus padres, Israel y Norma Hernández y sus hermanos, Nicole, Israel y Katherine Hernández. La querida mascota de Cyndy, Capulín, también la echará mucho de menos.
