

He was born in Louisville, Kentucky, however, he claims Miami, FL as his home town after moving there as a young child. GO PHINS!
Dale attended Fort Lauderdale College before joining the United States Air Force.
He served from 1972-1976 and spent the majority of his time at Clark Air Base in the Philippines; he specialized in Ground Radio Communications.
After his honorable discharge, he built his career in IT and worked for various technology companies; which brought him & his family to Texas in 1996.
Dale enjoyed spending time with his family & closest friends, cooking, hiking, gardening, fishing, being outdoors, drinking beer, playing darts, and watching sports games.
Dale is survived by his 4 children & 6 grandchildren. Daughter, Lesleigh Alba & husband Joaquin Alba; Daughter, Heather Andrews & husband Matthew Andrews; Son, John Viera & wife Donna Beck; Son, Phil Hatchett-Smith & wife Kayla Hatchett-Smith
Grandchildren: Tasia Holliday; Nyah Andrews; Jayda Andrews; Scarlet Salazar; Joaquin Alba, JR; Bennett Dale Hatchett-Smith
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Grace Smith; Father, Carl Smith; Mother, Margaret Smith; Sister Leanna; Brother, Robert Anthony.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm in the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Military Honors will be rendered at 3:00pm, followed by a time for those in attendance to share memories of Dale.
