David Spruce Cheatham was born in San Antonio on July 10, 1955 to Paul Palmer and Bettylu Spruce Cheatham. After living in San Antonio, Houston and Dallas, the family moved to the St. Louis area where Dave attended high school at Parkway Central and University at Bradley University in Peoria, IL. Dave earned a BS Degree in Engineering and upon graduation, headed back to Texas with a job at Texas Instruments Austin. Dave’s only sibling, older brother John Paul also lived in Austin, so it was a happy reunion after many years of separation by mileage. They both enjoyed Austin’s people, restaurants and music together.
Dave continued his engineering career in Austin at Motorola Semiconductor, Solectron and Cirrus Logic before retiring in 2014. Dave’s desire was to use his work positions as a way to see the world. Over the span of his career, he visited 46 cities in 25 countries for both work and leisure. He also enjoyed traveling the US to see the beautiful nature around the country. He has many cousins, nieces and nephews in Texas and around the US and enjoys keeping in touch with them as well as his friends.
His father, mother and brother preceded Dave in death.
