David M Melchior

David Melchior of Dripping Springs, Texas passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, at the age of 65. He was born on February 5, 1960, in Austin, Texas where he had a wonderful and adventurous childhood – spending summers with friends exploring Camp Ben McCulloch, waterskiing on Lady Bird Lake and generally being the life of the party wherever he went and irrespective of who he was with.

David was very proudly an expert, career plumber (having received his license in 1982) and had completed nearly 43 years in the trade.

David was a sports fanatic – a committed, lifetime University of Texas Longhorn fan but secondarily did not miss a professional racing event, football game or even golf (if that was the only sports option on television that day). David was incredibly creative and mechanically inclined and engaged in many hobbies inclusive of welding, cooking, automotive repair and constructing the most fantastic Christmas displays in his neighborhood.

David was preceded in death by his parents Rudolph and Dorothy Melchior who passed in 1987 and 2007 respectively.

He is survived by his stepdaughter, Samantha Scholl, his stepdaughter, Brooklyn Scholl, his faithful dog Denver and many, many treasured friends that were truly family to him.

David will be forever remembered for the way in which he brought true joy and laughter to everyone around him – his booming, charismatic voice and stories, as well as the sweet, sensitive nature that he showed openly and often.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life graveside at Cook-Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery, 14501 North IH-35, Pflugerville, Texas on Saturday, January 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

As he would have wanted more than anything, please wear burnt orange and come prepared to share your favorite story about David.
