David joined the U.S. Air Force in July 1952. He met Ione Anderson while stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base and they were married soon after in August 1955.
After David left the Air Force in July 1956, he and Ione moved to North Carolina, where they lived until moving to Austin in 1962.
David worked at Economy Furniture and Hurley Mattress for 40 years as a foreman and general manager.
David is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ione Nicholson; three children, David K. Nicholson of Coppell, TX, Karen Anderson of Newark, OH, and Janet Walker (Craig) of Georgetown, TX. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Sabrina Anderson, Michael Anderson, Stephen Walker, Brandon Walker, and Erin Ansley; and three siblings, Fred Nicholson, Edith Cruse, and Helen Cummings.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
