

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Blackmore of Taylor; son, Ron and wife Rhonda Blackmore of Elgin; daughter B.K. and husband Sam Warren of Pflugerville; grandchildren Tara and husband Joshua Stewart, and Bodie and wife Stacey Warren; and great-grandchildren Kyra and Aiden Stewart and Reagan Warren. He is also survived by his sister, Peggy Hartzell of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Donald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1969. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War. Donald also held lifetime memberships in the V.F.W. and the American Legion. After his military service, he began a second career as a maintenance supervisor and retired from the Austin American Statesman. Donald enjoyed traveling with his family and friends and taking camping trips in his RV. He loved fishing, ranching, and spending time outdoors.
There will be a visitation for family and friends on Monday, January 24, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at First United Methodist Church, 907 W. Lake Drive, Taylor. Interment with full military honors will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions be made to First United Methodist Church in Taylor.
