

Don was an avid outdoorsman and loved mountain climbing, fishing and all outdoor activities. He and his wife Shelley spent many happy hours fishing and hiking.
After graduating from National Outdoor Leadership School in Oregon, he was chosen to join a climb up Mt. McKinley in Alaska. He also climbed mountains in Colorado, Oregon, Washington and Mexico. He was always successful in his climbs. His motto was “Time to Climb.”
As an entrepreneur, Don was the owner of Petty Industrial Coaters and Accent Powder Coating companies.
He was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church Pflugerville and Great Hills Baptist Church.
Don was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by wife Shelley McGregor, mother Mary McGregor, brother Stephen D. McGregor, children Ryan and Molly McGregor and their mother Lil McGregor, step children Richard and Courtney Day, grandchildren Esperansa Day, Jordan and Addison McGregor and their mother Stephanie McGregor, John and Jim Hamilton, Helen Mary Gibbs, Mark Creel and Laura West, niece Rebekah McGregor and nephews Luke and Joshua McGregor.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16th from 6:00 pm until 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 17th at 10:00 am, both at Cook-Walden in Pflugerville, 14501 North IH-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Don to First Baptist Church Pflugerville, 306 S 10th St, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
This is his last time to climb and no doubt he has reached his chosen destination.
