Donna was the devoted wife to Edward Husmann and the mother of two sons, David, 64 of Weimar Texas and Greg, 61 of Weatherford. She and Ed recently celebrated their 65th anniversary with a large family gathering in Schulenburg Texas, including every member of the immediate family including grandchildren and great grandchildren and some friends and cousins from Colorado.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Lilly Peterson of Cushing , Nebraska and her brother Vaughn Peterson, also of Cushing. Donna is survived by her sister Lorraine Seevers of Sacramento California, five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Donna met Ed in 1952 through the introduction by a mutual friend Rosie. A Donna Peterson that went to high school with Ed was not someone Dad really wanted to date but Rosie insisted it would all be fine. They all went to a dance, this Donna Peterson was not Ed’s classmate, and the romance blossomed.
They married August 17, 1952 and had their first son on August 17, 1953. Donna and Ed became members of The Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Oak Ridge North in 1971. They helped in the growth of the church and moved with it to its present location in the Woodlands and have maintained their long-standing membership.
Donna June had many jobs and hobbies. One job involved volunteering in church activities and serving in volunteer custodial chores at the Lord of Life. She also served as a painter and remodeler of apartments she and Ed invested in at the Montrose area of Houston that they owned and operated as rental property for over 25 years. Refinishing antiques to exquisite beauty was also a specialty that has resulted in some of the finest furniture pieces imaginable. She took great pride in providing a wonderful, loving home for family and friends to share.
Donna will be missed greatly.
