Donna was the beloved wife of 29 years to Michael Mace. She is survived by Michael, her son and daughter-in-law Jeremy and Cindy Simpson, her daughter Erin Lukow, her sons Seth and Josiah Mace, her daughter and son-in-law Emily and Erik Rhine, her daughter-in-love Molli Mace, her grandchildren Christiian and his wife Mary Beth Simpson, Kailey Simpson, Riley, Mason, and Asher Rhine, Boston, Madilynn, and Davis Mace, and her great grandsons Theodore and Fletcher Simpson. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Nick Doshi, her sister and brother-in-law Cynthia and James H. Smith, and her brother Richard Roth.
Donna embodied the true meaning of selfless love and service throughout her life. She possessed an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel welcomed and valued. Her faith wasn't something she simply carried to church on Sundays—it lived in every act of kindness, every generous gesture, every moment she chose to put others before herself.
Donna was an especially talented artist, gifting and selling beautifully wire wrapped and beaded jewelry. She and Michael enjoyed many adventures, participating in local Renaissance Festivals, travelling in their RV, and taking many trips abroad, especially to her most special country, Israel, where she and Michael made several long-lasting friendships while he worked on a long-term project there. Her two most “famous” events in her life were when she saw The Beatles live in 1966 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, and when she and Michael performed as extras in The Chosen television series for “The Feeding of the Five Thousand”.
As a mother and grandmother, Donna was nothing short of extraordinary. She attended every school play, sporting event, and milestone celebration, often traveling great distances to be present for her family. Her grandchildren remember her as the one who always had time for creating magical memories during their visits to "Gamma's house."
The family will be hosting a “Celebration of life” on Friday, June 13th at 4:00 PM at Dreamer’s Church and via livestream, 10700 Anderson Mill Rd, #150, Austin, TX 78750.
