Doris Swenson Gustafson

Doris Swenson Gustafson passed away peacefully the morning of February 22, 2015 at the age of 95. She was born to John and Nora Swenson in Kenedy, Texas, on December 17, 1919. The family moved to Hutto, Texas in 1924. Doris moved to Austin and married Carl Henry Gustafson in 1942. She was a member of First Evangelical Free Church in Austin for many years.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, four sisters and a brother. She is survived by her son Royce Gustafson and his wife, Mary Ann of Elroy, Texas; her daughter Ann Oakes and husband Bill of Monument, Colorado; and her daughter Carolyn Kirk and her husband Robin of Georgetown, Texas.

The family would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to Home Instead, Country Oaks at Hamilton Creek Assisted Living Facility in Burnet, TX, Pflugerville Care Center, St. David's Round Rock Medical Center, and Hospice Compassus for their tremendous care and friendship.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 26 at Cook Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, February 27 at 10:00 am at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the charity of your choice.
