She was retired from TX DPS after 20 years of service. She was a top bowler in Austin for many years and continued bowling until age 89. She was a very loving, kind and caring person who helped anyone she could and donated to several charities and causes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Tom, and son, Jerry Dwain Tom. She is survived by her sister, Lou Ann Reid, daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Leonard Purdy, Colleen and Ed Mustoe, Cheryl and Frank Suiter, grandchildren; Greg Lewis, Brent Beers, Cody Beers, Jason Tom and Jarrid Tom Karn and several great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express sincere thanks to Kindred Hospice and Pflugerville Health Care Center for the loving care they provided.
“Celebration of Life” service will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, on August 13, 2016 at The Lions Club, 500 N.Railroad Ave., Pflugerville, TX.
Donations may be made to American Heart Assn. or Meals on Wheels in lieu of flowers.
