Edward Elliott Brodhag was born October 23, 1954, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Richard and Virginia Brodhag. Ed accepted Christ into his life at an early age. Later in life, he dedicated his musical gift to honor God in the music ministry.
On Sunday, January 27, 2013, Ed transitioned to his prepared place to be with God (John 14:2).
Ed was united in marriage to Brenda Nations in 1982, in Corpus Christi. They moved to Austin, Texas in 1984. Ed and Brenda were not blessed with children; however, the Lord gave them the heart and love to care for their pets --- Treasure, Mini, Bitty and Rascal.
Ed’s passion for music began at a young age, starting with drums and evolving into him becoming a gifted and accomplished guitarist. He studied classical guitar under the acclaimed classical guitarist Javier Calderon at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi. Ed loved all types of music, especially bluegrass gospel, “real” country music, classical, gospel, and traditional hymns. All who heard Ed play the guitar, will truly miss his musical gift.
Ed was employed at Limons Road Service in Austin. He enjoyed his job and was a dedicated employee. Ed felt like he was around family when he was at work.
Ed leaves to cherish his faithful and loving wife, Brenda; mother, Virginia Brodhag Sherwood; brother, Daniel; sisters, Beverly (Fred) Kemp and Rose Brodhag; and many loved nieces and nephews, in-laws and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Brodhag.
