Edward Remus Lasher, 88, passed away July 21, 2013 in Round Rock, Texas. Born and raised in Upstate New York, Edward was inducted into the Armed forces during WWII and proudly served in the United States Navy from August 1943 until his honorable discharge in May 1946 with the rank Petty Officer 3rd Class and Torpedoman 3rd Class. He continued to serve his country in the US Navy Reserves until 1956 and in the US Air Force Reserves from 1956 to 1962 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He met his wife, Betty Jean, in Milledgeville, Georgia and married her in 1952. They were married 40 years until her death in 1992. Edward worked for IBM and retired after 38 years of service. He was a member of St. William Catholic Church and served in The Knights of Columbus, Local Chapter 2245. He served as secretary, treasurer and president.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Lasher. He is survived by his three sons, Robert, John, and Steven; grandchildren, Michael Edward Lasher, Brandon Felix Lasher and Christina Ann Lasher; as well as his daughters-in-law, Maggie Lasher and Nancy Lasher.
His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredible staff of Hearthstone Health Center for the professional and dedicated care they provided until his passing.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2013 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas with a visitation held the hour prior to services. Interment will follow in Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
