Edythe Maye Bowdy

Born February 24, 1928, in Crystal City, Texas, Edythe was the daughter of Oscar Schmidt and Sarah M. (Hollar) Schmidt. Her parents preceded her in death, as did two brothers, Oscar “Smitty” Schmidt, Jr. and James Schmidt. She was also preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Thomas Bowdy and her son, Alwyn Lee McAnelly, who both passed in 2003. Edythe graduated from Devine High School and was employed at Kerrville State Hospital, retiring in 1999.

Edythe is survived by her son, James W. McAnelly, Jr. and wife, Sheila of Austin; two granddaughters, Sheri L. Pederzani and her fiancé, Steven Hubnik of Round Rock and Lilly Elaine McAnelly and husband, Ralph Jaramillo of Cedar Creek; two grandsons, James W. McAnelly III of Round Rock and Brett Ellis of Austin; along with eight great-grandchildren, Kevin (Vance) Pederzani, Sarah Pederzani, Anthony Arispe, Desarae “Desi” Osborn, John “J.C.” Osborn, Arellane “Ari” Jaramillo, Lance “Willie” Jaramillo and Sabrina Ellis.
