May 24, 1922 – August 8, 2025
Ella Esther Moore was born on May 24, 1922, in Serbin, Texas. She has now joined her beloved husband, William “Billy” Moore; their three sons, William, Ralph, and Glenn Moore; and her granddaughter, Kelli Moore, in Heaven, along with her parents and eight of her siblings.
Ella grew up in Giddings, Texas, before relocating to Port Arthur to attend Cosmetology School. It was there she met Billy, and they married in 1945. Together, they raised three wonderful children and built a loving, welcoming home.
In 1992, Ella moved to Austin, Texas, where she made her home in the Wells Branch community. She became a devoted member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she faithfully served in many capacities. She volunteered her time to charitable activities such as Braille, AARP, TLC, Dorcas, The Group Bible Study, Tuesday Morning Bible Study, and the Church thrift store.
Ella lived an extraordinary 103 years, touching countless lives with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith. She loved playing games such as Dominoes, Rummikub, Canasta, and Hand & Foot with friends and family. An exceptional cook, she was known for preparing the best home-cooked meals and had a gift for taking something great and making it just a little bit better. If you knew Ella, you knew that her love language was feeding you.
As the matriarch of the family, Ella guided generations through holidays, birthdays, and celebrations with grace and love. She was a remarkable woman whose light could brighten any room, teaching all who knew her to love unconditionally, live faithfully, and embrace others as they are.
She will be remembered always as a devoted Christian, friend, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and role model. We will see her again in Heaven; until then, may she rest in peace.
Ella is survived by sister: Elinor Chupp, six grandchildren: Billy Moore and wife Becky Moore; Brenda Chamblee and husband Sean Chamblee; Stacey Crawford and husband Greg Crawford; Kacey Moore; Danny Moore and wife Brandi Moore; and Lindsey Stella and husband Kenny Stella. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren—Zack Chamblee, Brad Greene, Blake Greene, Reaghan Greene, Zoe Moore, Jayden Moore, Angel Moore, Kaidence Moore, Parker Moore, Dawson Stella, and Liv Stella—and one great-great-grandchild, Maverick Chamblee and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews that will cherish the time they had with her.
