She was born September 27, 1945 in Sebastian and spent many of her years working and raising her family in Harlingen and Austin. Elma spent several years working for the State of Texas in the Department of Transportation, Visitors Bureau, and with Planned Parenthood. After retiring, she enjoyed caring for children and families in her Wells Branch neighborhood. Elma had a passion for shopping, decorating, and politics. She is married to Joe I. Rodriguez, who loves her eternally.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Juan; her sisters, Gloria and Sylvia; and her brother, Alfonso.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, John Arevalo, Michael Rodriguez and Raul Arevalo; her granddaughters, Hallie Arevalo and Elliot Arevalo; as well as many other siblings, extended family, friends and neighbors.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
