She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ernesto Pena. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, James S. Ortiz of Round Rock; son, Jimmie Ortiz of Round Rock; and her grandchildren, James Geronimo Ortiz and Samantha Jane Ortiz of Austin. She is also survived by her siblings, Elena Rodriguez, Sophia Cisneros, Alberto Pena, Beatrice Rodriguez, and Julian Pena, all of Victoria.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. She will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
