Mrs. Emma Jean Easley Dixon, was born on July 14, 1934, in Manor, Texas. Emma was born to Orange Easley Sr. and Mary Easley. She was one of thirteen children. Emma was introduced to Christ at an early age, under the Pastor-ship of Brother Bill Jones.
Emma pursued her education at Texas Women’s College and furthered her education at Huston-Tillotson University. Emma worked tirelessly for many years as a child educator in the Austin, Texas area. She retired from the Austin Independent School District.
Emma was married to the late Morise Dixon Jr. for 57 years. To this union, three children were born; Angela Dixon (Austin, TX), Mareesa Blackmon (Austin, TX), and Sylvester Dixon (Grand Prairie, TX). Emma and Morise had four grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.
The Dixon's took pride in ensuring that they played a part in the lives of their family members as well as their children and grandchildren. Emma loved her family and didn't mind taking the time to get on the road to visit them. Emma had a passionate love for gospel music and wrote many songs with the assistance of Jimmy and Agnes Jones. Many of these songs are copyrighted and patented today.
