

Evelyn was the first leap-year-day baby born in Austin on February 29, 1924. Her birth was marked by gifts from several Austin merchants including an engraved sterling cup from Carl Mayer Jewelers.
She grew up in the Hyde Park neighborhood and graduated Austin High School and attended Durham’s Business College.
She married Gerald L. Teeter on February 16, 1944 and were married 47 years, until his death in 1991. They made their home in Austin and had one son, David L. Teeter.
Evelyn is survived by her son, his wife Linda and their children, Susan Law and David Gerald Teeter and his wife Misty. She is also survived by two great granddaughters, Katelynn Law and Annette Teeter.
She is also survived by her brother and his wife, James and Lillian Clayton. Their two children, Cynthia Bartek and Robert Clayton she considered more as grandchildren than as niece and nephew.
She worked and retired from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Motor Vehicle Inspection dept. She had numerous hobbies including painting, gardening and cooking. Her yard was evidence that she could grow just about anything. She made the best potato salad ever and loved all the family celebrations. She and Jerry enjoyed traveling in their motor home around the United States and especially to Washington State to visit his family.
Evelyn was also pre-deceased by her parents, Bess and James Clayton and her great grandparents, Sophie and Herman Hilmmer.
Her family was life-long members of Hyde Park Baptist Church.
An informal graveside service will be held, Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Cook-Walden Capital Parks, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas.
