Born on September 8th, 1952 in Stillwater Oklahoma to Donald and Carolyn (Bowlware) Dupy, Fred passed away on May 15th, 2022, in Austin, Texas. After a courageous, but brief battle with Cancer and
surrounded by loving family members and close friends, Fred entered the blessed Kingdom of Heaven.
Fred attended the University of Oklahoma, as an avid member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and the most Fanatical Boomer Sooner Fan EVER! His loyalty extended throughout all university athletics - with
emphasis on Sooner Football and Women’s Softball. In fact, this year, through donations to OU’s Women’s Softball program, the Visitors Bullpen at Love’s Field will be named in honor of Frederick and Monica Dupy.
Fred and his younger brother William, over the last 30+ years, founded and co-owned American Rental Service, American Party Rental and launched multiple real estate interests under Dupy Brothers, LLC. Fred’s generous giving spirit and his professional influence on the Rental Industry landscape, remains significant. He served multiple terms as President of the Texas Rental Assn, was named TRA Person of the Year in 2013 and was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the
American Rental Association in 2018.
As a faithful member at St. Phillips Methodist Church in Round Rock and active in the Pi Kappa Alpha Alumni Assn, he also loved traveling with his wife, Monica, and enjoyed spending time with his nephews and niece. Fred chose to be generous to those causes that touched his heart - donating to Student Scholarships, his Pike Fraternity and his beloved Oklahoma University. Fred’s softest spot was animals - especially Labrador Retrievers, supporting his love for dogs through his generosity to the Heart of Texas Lab Rescue and Williamson County Animal Shelter.
Fred is survived by his wife of 20 years, Monica Dupy - his brother William (Michele) Dupy - sister Marilynn Voise (Wade) - stepson Mark Jones (son Michael) - stepdaughter Jennifer Durst - nephews Russell (Reece) Voise, Brandon Dupy, Cameron Dupy, Jonathan (Kylie) Dupy and niece Lauren (Zachary) Colorio. Fred was preceded in death by his Grandparents John and Opal Bowlware, George and Flossie Dupy, his Parents, and his nephew, Adam Voise.
