He loved hot rods, motorcycles, drag races, grilling/cooking, camping, fishing, and spending time with his loved ones – especially his grandchildren. In his early years, he was a supervisor in the oil field. He was a jack of all trades; he could build a house from the ground up. He believed in working from sunrise to sundown and always stayed busy. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and would give you his last dollar if he had it!
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Garcia and Otila Dela Garza. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his daughter, Monica Segura and husband Jose; son, Derek Garcia and wife Heather; grandchildren, Alexis Suarez and fiancé, Jonathan Escamilla; Jadon Segura, Josef Segura, Sophie Garcia, and Elijah Garcia; great-grandchild, Jameson Luke Escamilla; the mother of his children and his life-long friend, Patricia Sauve; his siblings, Dora Romero, Elecia Albarez, Janie Molina, Manuel Garcia, Willie Garcia, Jo Alamo Garcia, Rosie Alarcon, Mary Mata and Debra Lynn McCrary; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Fred’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, with his nephew, Gabriel Alamo, officiating.
