George worked for the Texas Department of Transportation and retired in 2003. He spent his spare time working with the Lion’s Club of Manor, TX and officiating track meets for the AAU of South Texas and the University of Texas Track & Field Official’s Association.
He was preceded to the afterlife by his wife of 34 years Sharon Leigh Logan Reid. He is survived by his mother-in-law, Mary Logan, son George Walter Reid IV, his fiancée Katie Wappler and his sister Janet Reid Burford and her husband Wesley Burford, their children Taylor Burford and wife Kristina and Marshall Burford and wife Jessica.
