

He was born on December 28, 1935 in Ardmore, Oklahoma, the son of Ethel Elizabeth (Folsom) and Garrett Haskell Creel. He graduated from Grand Prairie High School and attended Grayson County Junior College, Arlington State (now University of Texas at Arlington) and Southern Methodist University. He married Winona Marie Foust on November 19, 1955.
Haskell made his career working as an engineer from 1958 until 1981 with Texas Instruments in Dallas and Sherman, Texas. He also worked for Great Lakes Chemical in New Port, TN, Industrial Design and Intel in Rio Rancho, NM, Advanced Micro Devices in Austin, TX, ST Microelectronics of Carrollton, TX and Silterra Wafer Fab in Kulim, Malaysia. He also honorably served his country in the United States Navy from 1954-1958.
He was a member of the Church of Christ and the NRA and was a Master Mason and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite member. He loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and RV traveling. Haskell was a loving father, husband and friend. He had a sense of humor like no other and would keep you laughing all the time. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Winona Creel; children, Patrick (Amanda) Creel, Michael (Yvonne) Creel, Jonathan (Kazu) Creel Shannon Foltz and Hayden Foltz; and his brother, Bob (Robin) Creel.
A memorial service celebrating Haskell’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville.
