Helen C. Sowell, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, entered rest October 18, 2015 at the age of 87. She was born in Elgin, Texas to Claiborn and Lillian Caffey on December 11, 1927.
She was preceded in death by husband, William “Dale” Sowell; 3 brothers: Walton Roy Caffey, Kenneth Harold Caffey, Curtis Ralph Caffey; 2 sisters, Ira Kathleen Smith and Rebecca Loraine Owens. She is survived by her children: Larry and Charli Sowell of Austin, Texas, Charles Sowell of Austin, Texas, Pat and Cindy Griggs of Goldthwaite, Texas; 2 grandchildren, Jeff Sowell of Austin, Texas, and Jennifer Sowell of Austin, Texas; 2 great-grandchildren, Katelyn Pervis of Austin, Texas and Paul Gordon Judkins of Austin, Texas.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Cook Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
