Ida Marie Lambeth went to hug Jesus on Tuesday, August 14, 2018. She was an independent, spunky lady who loved telling stories to her children, grandchildren, and friends. Ida was born on July 4, 1930 in Houston, Texas. Her parents were Hattie Lou Barlow Mims from Nolanville, Texas and Philip Robert Mims from Round Rock, Texas. She graduated from Roanoke High School followed by Longwood College in Farmville, VA in 1952 with a B.A. in Sociology. After living in France for a year, she moved back to Virginia briefly and finally home to Texas in 1958 where she lived within 50 yards of her mom, sister and family.
After retiring from the Bureau of Business Research at the University of Texas-Austin in 1992, she enjoyed living with her favorite “Happy” Lou around the corner from those previous grandkids in Plugerville, TX. In her last years, she peacefully lived in Buckner Villa where the staff prayerfully loved on her with sweet words and coffee.
The family wishes to express its sincerest appreciation to Dr. Holland - Campbell, Vivian Gonzales, Gayle Mitchell and Dr. Pellegrini and many others for their understanding, compassion and labors of love caring for Ida, sharing stories and helping her transition to Heaven. Thank you, Barbara Perry, for faithfully serving her in-house communion monthly for years.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents Hattie Lou and Philip, sister and brother-in-law Roberta and Ken Williams, nephew Bob Williams, and daughter-in-law Brenda Lambeth. She is survived by her son, Lee Lambeth (Donna) of Round Rock, TX, daughter Lynne Dosa (Andy) of Bellevue, NE, niece Cindy Baxter (Richard) and grandchildren Logan, Emily, and Jean Lambeth, Andrew and Nathan Mills.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery 14501 North Interstate 35 Pflugerville, Texas. Service officiated by Stella Burkhalter of Covenant United Methodist Church, Austin.
