Iletra was married to Arthur James Lawrence Sr., on May 23, 1970. She was a beloved mother of four children, grandmother of ten, and great grandmother of three. She had a vast family in Chicago, Illinois (and other cities in the US and abroad) including many nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, and cousins. Iletra loved the Lord and worshiped and studied the Word of God at Promiseland Church and Cornerstone Church. She was passionate about providing families with homes as a realtor for Coldwell Banker for over 40 years.
Iletra loved to study the Bible, spend time with her family, travel, and work in her garden. She always wanted to bring the family together and have a good time. She had a servant’s heart and was involved in a variety of community service organizations as well as serving as a docent at the Texas Governor’s mansion.
Iletra was survived by her four children, (Kathy Winfrey, Angela Lawrence, Arthur J. Lawrence Jr., William Lawrence and daughter-in-law Laura Lawrence), her ten grandchildren, (Katheryn Blankenship, Alonzo Blankenship II, Krystain Blankenship, Dominique Collins, Clayton Winfrey II, Isabella Lawrence, Arthur James Lawrence III, Benjamin Lawrence, Abigail Lawrence, William Lawrence Jr., and granddaughter-in-law Moriah Collins) and her three great grandchildren, (LeVeon Collins, Ezekiel Collins, and Amari Collins). She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Cornelius and Earnestine Parks, her husband, Arthur J. Lawrence, and her five brothers (Cleveland Robinson, Theodore Robinson, Cornelius Parks, James Parks, and Claude Parks), and four sisters (Pearl Hudson, Ethel Thompkins, Sadie Thomas, and Margaret White).
A visitation for Iletra will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at Promiseland Church, 1504 E 51st St #200, Austin, Texas 78723. A funeral service will occur Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., 1504 E 51st St #200, Austin, Texas 78723. Following the service will be a committal at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
Serving as pallbearers are William S. Lawrence, Clayton Winfrey II, Dominique Collins, Alonzo R. Blankenship II, DeWayne Parks, Terry Jackson II and Rick Soza.
