Ilse Vind Nielsen

Born in Skive, Denmark, Ilse began an incredible journey at just 14 years old when she immigrated to the United States after World War II, on the ship M.S. Stockholm carrying with her a deep and lasting love for her Danish roots. Her life was a testament to resilience, adventure, and love.

She created a home filled with laughter, beloved dogs, delicious meals, her famous Danish pastries, and stories that bridged two worlds. Her warmth, humor, and love will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Ilse is survived by her loving children: Ronda Nielsen of Austin, Texas; Sharon Begay of Tsaile, Arizona; Ronald (Jill) Nielsen of Lindon, Utah; David (Suzannah) Nielsen of Dallas, Texas; and Gregory (Kathleen) Nielsen of Austin, Texas. Her legacy continues through her 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her Scandinavian spirit of courage and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ronald Asa Nielsen, and her daughters, Gwendolyn Irene Ivy and Anna Marie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ilse's honor to the Williamson County Animal Shelter.

A Funeral Service will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660, US, on April 26, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with live stream available at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/c2604505674373.
