

Iris Jo Crowder Andrews was born on October 27, 1939, in Brownwood, TX, the daughter of Trumon Crowder and Juanita Estes. She was married to Charles Andrews on November 4, 1958, in San Antonio, TX. She died peacefully on February 14, 2026, at the age of 86 in Round Rock, TX.
Iris was preceded in death by her parents Trumon and Juanita, her husband Charles, her granddaughter Lauren Andrews Brown, her paternal brother James Crowder, her stepmother Iva Crowder, and her stepbrothers Clayton Whalley and Lester Whalley.
She is survived by her son Damon Andrews and his wife Barbara, her grandson Dustin Andrews and his wife Nicole, her grandson Parker Andrews, her great-grandson Thatcher Andrews - son of Dustin and Nicole, her paternal sister Sharon Stokes, her paternal brother Larry Crowder and his wife Susie, her maternal sister Minnie Tennell and her husband P.T., her maternal brother Charles Lusty and his wife Susan, her maternal sister Barbara Lecroy, her maternal brother Donny Lecroy, and her maternal sister BJ Lecroy.
Iris’ life was one of devotion to her family and service to her Lord. As her husband Charles’ career with the Texas Department of Public Safety moved them from town to town, she always found work in a local church, serving on staff at seven different churches in six cities between 1963 and 1982. After Charles’ death in 1982, Iris went back to school to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University in 1986, and a Master of Arts degree in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1990. In 1992, at the age of 52, she deployed to the mission field in Amman, Jordan, where she served on staff at the Jordanian Evangelical Theological Seminary and supported ministry to Arab women. After 16 years in Jordan, she returned to the Austin area, where she resided until her death.
Visitation will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville on February 22, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the same location on February 23, 2026, at 2:00 pm. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
