A proud WWII Navel Veteran who served on the Man of War USS San Diego (CL53) which was the second-most decorated USN ship of WWII.
Jack retired from the printing industry and was a long time employee of Steck Company/Hart Graphics.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Clara (Luther) Welch; father, Jack Welch; mother, Aubrey (Gilmore) Smith; brother, Jay Welch, and sister, Gertrude Sheppard.
Jack is survived by his sons, Jack Welch III of Austin and Gary Welch and wife, Kandy of Henly and daughter Renee Darling of Cedar Park; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Jack loved spending time with his family, attending grandchildren’s sports events, playing dominos, hunting and watching all Longhorn sports.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the excellent care given to Jack during his illness at the Austin Heart Hospital and North Austin Medical Center.
Visitation will be at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2017, with the service following at 1:00 p.m. at the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
