James Ray Malone

James Ray Malone, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on September 9, 1951, and a proud resident of Austin, Texas, James led a life filled with joy, kindness, and a deep appreciation for simple pleasures. He cherished fishing trips, family gatherings, and sharing good meals at his favorite spots, Popeyes and Cracker Barrel.

James dedicated more than 30 years to a rewarding career at IBM before enjoying a well-earned retirement. He found happiness in walking his dog, cheering on his favorite teams on ESPN, and especially watching Tiger Woods play golf. James will be remembered for his generous spirit, love of family, and unwavering zest for life.

James is survived by his loving son, Rashad Malone, and his wife Andrea; cherished granddaughter, Madison Malone; dear grandson, Devin Amsten; his former spouse, Cecilia Malone; and his devoted brother, Sim Malone. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Emma Owens Malone, and his brother, Maurice Malone.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held in James's honor at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North IH-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660, on October 18, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to celebrate and remember his remarkable life.
