

James partnered with his wife Jujuan, caring for his customers' precious "children with fur", in their mobile dog grooming business for 17 years before his passing. He and Jujuan loved and cared for each other deeply, and their two children, throughout their marriage of 23 years. James and Jujuan shared a love for food, cars, animals, taking trips to the coast, and trips to their outdoor swimming pool, Schlitterbahn.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James Ruthven II, and his maternal grandmother Ruth Didra. In addition to his loving wife Adrenne Jujuan Ruthven, he is survived by his sons Phillip James Ruthven and David James Ruthven; his dad, James Ruthven III and his mom Judy Sorling; father-in-law, Charles Drain; mother-in-law, Brenda Drain; brother, Brian Ruthven; sister, Daley Ruthven; nephew, Keith Ruthven; and nieces, Kira Ruthven and Alyssa Tirao.
A memorial service celebrating James' life will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to any of the following: David Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, The Humane Society, or to the SPCA of Austin.
